Nursery Row Park Management and Investment Plan 2014-19

Nursery Row Park Management and Investment Plan 2014-19

Southwark Council has sent us the final version of their management and investment plan for the park which can be downloaded from this link: Nursery Row Park Management and Investment Plan 2014

We are delighted that the overall objectives of the plan are very close to those of the Friends of Nursery Row Park. Specifically the plan’s aims are:

  • To protect and enhance the identity and design of this valuable park.
  • Improve the horticultural value and increase biodiversity within the park by enhancing the diverse range of plants and trees.
  • Continue to encourage community involvement.
  • Increase the use of the Park as a destination as well as a pleasant place to pass by.
  • Enhance the entrances to provide a welcoming and attractive first impression to visitors and to support the park’s identity.

In particular, the plan sets out the council’s aims to:

  • Support events and ways of encouraging local people to use and feel pride in Nursery Row Park
  • Make the park a priority for future dog fouling awareness raising
  • Make entrances more welcoming and improve signage
  • Implement a management plan for the Orchard and improve its biodiversity, to help secure SINC status for the park
  • Support events and ways of encouraging local people to use and feel pride in Nursery Row Park
