Our wildflower meadow
Our wildflower meadow has had a great year in 2016; enough rain this spring and no extended dry spells so far has meant there has been continuous flowering. Several species are prevalent at the moment – particularly knapweed (purple), common chicory (light blue) and thistles. Unfortunately so have Sheep (Red) Sorrel and Wormwood which we have been removing as these are invasive and not welcome.
We were delighted to see our flock of goldfinches are back in the meadow, enjoying feeding on the seeds and returning to the Plane Trees on Brandon St for shelter.
