Noted June 6th event at Liverpool Grove, Luke to ask Walworth Society for FoNRP stand.

June 13th FoNRP spring event – ideas include clay play, park selfie context, Jim R to think of ways of showing and downloading photos at the event itself, with reference to safeguarding policy. Participation of Play Rangers at event not probable because of funding uncertainty. Luke to do event application. Funding from United St Saviours.

August 1/8/15 – Plaza Latina in Nursery Row Park, funded with High St Challenge and led by Carnaval del Pueblo

August 1 or 8 – Culture Mash event. Aim to bring together people across cultures for dance and music and food in Nursery Row Park. John Whelan introduced event, based on funding application from Elephant Community Fund (deadline 13th April). John is developing the application as a professional, and is identifying potential partners from his network.

September 27th Autumn Apple Day event. Confirmed participation by The Challenge, with volunteer group of 12 people to develop a fundraising and campaigning programme and then join the event on 27th to implement their ideas. Preliminary intro date at 1pm on Monday 20th July.

Cleaner Greener Safer Fund

The Friends have been awarded £12,500 for the plan to improve the gateway to the park at East St, including removal of phone boxes and tidying up of grot spot in corner, and planting, to improve the link between the park and market and facilitate stalls in the park. Bid was kindly supported by members of SAST (Southwark Association of Street Traders). Luke to contact Project Manager to initiate discussion.

Workdays / Community Orchard

Next workday Saturday 25th April at 13:30 (or earlier if that suits, pls call 07881 914728). Some (a lot of) work on orchard needed, but also preparation for works on Browning wall.

Teaching in the park programme

David Curtis introduced 2015’s programme, with Robert Browning and Michael Faraday primary schools, starting end of this month, on Fridays. Summer after school club in development.

Browning St wall works

Starting end of April, will involve destruction of much of herb bed. Opportunity to start afresh, perhaps remove bindweed, for discussion with Parks.
